Insanity: The Asylum Review
The Insanity Asylum workout program is the first at-home sports specific training program ever put on DVD. The Asylum is for people who not only want to look better, but also want to be able to run faster, leap higher, move quicker, increase strength, and become a better overall athlete. No matter your sport of choice, Shaun T(instructor) uses cross-training cycles to take you from average to elite in only 30 short days.
Insanity Asylum Compared to the Original Insanity
Insanity the Asylum is not for beginner’s looking to get in shape – you must already be in excellent condition if you want to be able to make it through the first five minutes of warmups. Comparing Insanity vs the Asylum is not like comparing apples to oranges, but it is almost as close to the comparison as far as how different they both are. While both workouts will improve your cardiovascular health, the Asylum focuses more on movements that will make you a better athlete on the field and not just burn body fat like the original Insanity program does.
While it is not necessary for you to have done the original Insanity program before following the Asylum workout program, it is recommended you do as my first Insanity: the Asylum workout made me want to vomit even though I had just completed 90 days of P90X.
How does Insanity: the Asylum work?
The science behind Insanity the Asylum is using specific cross training movements combined with strength, core, plyometrics, agility, and balance exercises to bring out your athletic best. The Asylum also takes Max Interval Training from the original Insanity and brings a sports specific level to it. Three levels of progression never allow your body to adapt to a certain period of training, so basically, you are continually pushing your body to perform better.
